Day three at the lake can get stressful. My sister is one big ball of grumpy anxiety at this point. I am so grateful I brought my Thich Naht Hanh book, Living Buddha, Living Christ. I'm sitting on the water on the lake realizing that this is a wonderful moment. Breathing in I calm my body. Breathing out I smile. Post from mobile portal m.livejournal.com Current Mood: peaceful |

Phone help.
Almost a month ago I got an LG Dare. I still can't decide if I like it. I have one more day to decide if I want the Blackberry Curve. Any suggestions? The main problem I have with the Dare is the touchscreen. It's a little maddening when I try to text. Also, the applications aren't as great as the Blackberry. I never thought I'd actually use the apps but since I've been at the lake sans computer I've been using the browser and mobile facebook and twitter. What client do you use for Facebook and Twitter? |

What's for dinner?
I just created something beautiful. I skinned some chicken leg quarters and rendered the fat in a cast iron skillet in the oven. I then took the chicken, boned and cubed it then cooked it in its own rendered fat. Wow. So bad for us but so very good. I recently saw a recipe for french fries cooked in duck fat. MY LAWD!! |

The state of Lian.
We all know that I collect hobbies. It's just what I do. These hobbies sometimes have money-making potential but more often than not I learn to do things for the selfish reason that I don't want to pay someone else a ridiculous sum of money for something I can possibly make myself. This is why I originally learned to make jewelry. If I ever found a piece that I actually liked I refused to pay the asked price for it. That led to selling a few things here and there. Then I learned to draw using graphite just to see if I could. Come to find out, I am good. Especially with chiaroscuro using graphite powder and a kneaded eraser. I fucking rule at that. Now, I want to learn to sew with vinyl and other upholstery type materials. To make purses or even custom bike seats or car interiors. No grand plan. Just the collection of more knowledge. I also want to buy and restore a '51 Cadillac hearse and join the local gals' car club. So much to learn, so little life. |
